    Microsoft does not intend to sell Dynamics 365 Business Central to customers directly. The only method to acquire Dynamics 365 Business Central is through Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) Program partners such as Solution Systems. Microsoft relies on its network of global collaborators to use its expertise to assist customers in developing and deploying industry-specific solutions.
  • What is the difference between Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central?
    Dynamics NAV is on-premise software, available via perpetual, subscription, and/or SPLA licensing, that can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud and extended using Dynamics NAV customizations or extensions. Also, from a feature standpoint, Dynamics NAV does not have the capability to fully integrate with other Microsoft software.
  • How will customers upgrade to new versions of Dynamics 365 Business Central?
    Dynamics 365 Business Central customers will receive major and minor updates automatically. Minor updates will be installed monthly, and major updates will be installed during the spring and fall seasons.
  • Is Dynamics 365 Business Central a true SaaS/public cloud/multitenant offering managed by Microsoft?
    Yes. Microsoft manages the entire online service on Microsoft Azure. The price per user incorporates all expenses associated with software operation. It includes SQL, Azure consumption, backup/restore SLA-compliant availability and enhancements. In addition to accommodating customizations in the form of ISV solutions found on AppSource.microsoft.com, it also houses customizations made per customer or tenant.
  • Is Dynamics 365 Business Central available on mobile devices?
    Yes, Dynamics 365 Business Central mobile app is available in various mobile app stores.
  • Is a Dynamics 365 Business Central trial available, and how long is the trial?
    Yes, you can sign up for a free trial of Dynamics 365 Central from this website. Users who sign up for the free trial have unlimited access to the demo company (with demo data). If you decide to create a new company within the trial tenant (for instance, to observe your own data in the system), you will have access to the new company's data for 30 days. You may, however, continue to use the prototype company (with demo data) for as long as you wish. (no expiration).
  • Does a customer need to have an Microsoft 365 subscription to use Dynamics 365 Business Central?
    No. However, to seamlessly experience Dynamics 365 Business Central from within Microsoft 365, customers must have an Microsoft 365 subscription that includes Exchange Online.

  • Which Dynamics NAV functionality is/isn't included within Dynamics 365 Business Central?
    All of the capabilities available in Dynamics NAV are also available in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Does Dynamics 365 Business Central include payroll?
    Dynamics 365 Business Central does not include native payroll capabilities; however, customers can continue to use their preferred payroll solution and integrate it with Dynamics 365 Business Central by leveraging Microsoft AppSource applications.
