Updated: Aug 9, 2021
You are the proud user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and I'm sure things are going well but you're wondering if there is anything you can do in a short period of time to improve Business Central? Well, of course there is! Here's a couple quick things:
What are the benefits to having Dynamics 365 Business Central in the Cloud?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud offers a more cost effective way to using ERP software. For example, There’s no upfront IT costs such as purchasing and configuring a server. Business Central in the cloud also offers benefits such as automatic updates, subscription based licensing, and the ability to cancel at any time.
Business Central Permissions
Using the wrong Permissions for an individual is not only a nightmare for your organization it can be down-right disastrous. Having the proper permissions makes users more efficient and protects sensitive company information from being seen by the wrong employees.
Permissions within Business Central can quickly be assigned by searching for users, selecting the user, and then assigning a different permission set. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers many predefined permission sets but what happens if you need a custom permission set? Custom permission sets are possible but you'll need to contact a Microsoft partner such as Solution Systems to help with this.
Power BI
Power BI is a wonderful tool for taking data that you have and creating amazing visuals to represent that data. Power BI has a free version and a paid version and I've found the free version to be very feature robust, but more for individual use as you cannot share dashboards for others to see.
Connecting Power BI to Business Central is relatively painless with the business central connectivity apps offered. Apps offered include:
