Segment 1: Beer Review
Michael's Beer
So, I go into Binny’s to buy a different summer beer because for the podcast because it’s been in the 80s over here, and I pick out O’Fallen Wheach from O’Fallen Brewery. What are the odds that I’ve drank this beer on the podcast before? Pretty good apparently. Back in episode 4 I gave this beer a rating of 88 so at least it’s halfway decent if I’m going to be drinking it again.
O’Fallen Brewery – We’re a regional craft brewery that began in O’Fallon, MO on St. Patrick’s Day in 2000. In June 2015, the brewery moved into a 40,000 sq ft facility in Maryland Heights, MO. Our goal is to brew balanced craft beers that focus on unique ingredients and local collaborations.
O’Fallen Wheach - Imagine our smooth, clean wheat beer with a touch of peach and you get the idea behind Wheach, our peach wheat beer. Light, refreshing and crisp, it’s perfect for any occasion! (88 rating Michael)
Ken's Choice of drink:
Miller Lite
WHAT MAKES AN ORIGINAL?
High quality ingredients: water, barley malt, yeast, hops, hop extract and corn syrup. Add in your best friends. Now, you’re not just drinking a great tasting light beer. You’re having yourself some Miller Time.

Active customers can renew their Enhancement Plan (EP) through the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program and receive online licenses.
After careful consideration of the current environment and the potential business impact of COVID-19 on our Dynamics Price List (DPL) on-premises customers, Microsoft has created an offer enabling existing customers who are active on their EP to renew their EP through the CSP program and receive Dynamics 365 Business Central online licenses.
Segment 3: Feature Segment - Personalizing Business Central
Segment 4: Featured App - Faveo Duplicate Checker
For this month’s Featured App Segment, we’re going to take a look at how you can organize your customer and vendor records through Faveo Duplicate Check app and whether or not this offers more or less functionality than the standard duplicate check, and merge customers and vendors features within Business Central.
Maintaining a “scrubbed” contact list is essential for things like sending invoices, marketing retargeting efforts, and a lot more.
Now some smaller organizations might not worry too much about duplicate entries because they have only 1 person entering in new customers and vendors but as that business continues to grow you’ll most likely have multiple people entering this information or these entries could even be created through an eCommerce app or CRM app.
So let’s start with Business Central’s built in duplicate feature and what we know about it. We know that if you go into the Duplicate Contacts Task, Business Central will show you a list of duplicates based on the search criteria you entered through the Marketing Setup page. This criteria can be anything from the first 5 characters of a First Name to the first 5 characters of a Mobile Phone Number. Now, a nice feature that is included within the Business Central duplicate search, but one that I believe is not turned on by default, is the ability to search automatically for duplicates each time a contact is created or modified. That’s pretty nice for standard out-of-the-box Business Central functionality!
Ok, you’ve found some duplicate entries, so what do you do now? Well, you may want to use Business Central’s Merge Customers and Merge Vendors feature because you can merge two existing Customer or Vendor records and all of their data together. You can merge things like posted invoices, credit memos, ledger entries, comments, prices, and a whole lot more. Here’s a demo of the merge Customer and merge Vendors Business Central feature.
Now the question is though, what does the Faveo Duplicate Check App offer that Business Central does not? Well, According to the Faveo Duplicate Check Microsoft AppSource listing renegade customer accounts are checked and reunited automatically including all ledger entries, reports and balances through a configurable degree of matching master data for duplicate detection.
So, it appears the only difference between Business Central’s standard features we talked about is that this Faveo app will automatically detect duplicates and then merge them together. This happens when there is a 100 percent match.
Ken, would you want an app to automatically detect and merge duplicates and their records together or is that something you’d like to control?
