Update 18.2 has been released | here

  • All customers can now receive up-front email notifications seven days in advance and schedule minor updates of Business Central within 21 days. https://aka.ms/BCUpdates

  • New ways of working with Business Central data in Power BI

    • New connector for Business Central allowing you to get data faster from Business Central to Power BI.

  • AboutTitle and AboutText properties

    • AL reference docs now have plenty of updated details.

  • Support for migrating data from earlier on-premises versions of Business Central to 2021 release wave 1 (v.18)

    • Customers can migrate their data from earlier on-premises versions (14, 15, 16, or 17) of BC to their online Business Central environment, running on the latest version.

Address Validation in Business Central


365 Business Address Validation App

Check, correct, and update all address data from around the world. Errors made during input, such as writing, listening, reading or tying mistakes, are automatically corrected. App Link


Why this is important?

  • All companies need accurate supplier information.

    • You may never have to have an employee go to a vendor unless there’s an emergency but if there is an emergency having a correct address on file will save you a major headache.

    • You might also need to send documents to your suppliers.

  • Organization’s need correct contact details of employees.

    • To send documents

    • To deliver goods

    • And you never know, an employee could be traveling and an accident occurs and the business may need to help the employee return home safe.

  • Organization’s need Customer addresses.

    • To send marketing materials

    • To send invoices and other documents

Price

  • The app is free but you’ll need a valid subscription of the 365 business API.

    • The 365 business API is connected to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central through the 365 business API dependency app.

Installation

  1. Downloaded the app from AppSource

  2. Configure 365 business API Setup page

    1. API URL is pre-populated.

    2. This is where you’ll have to enter your authentication key.

  3. Make sure address validation is selected and then choose which addresses you want to be validated.

    1. Contact Address

    2. Customer Address

    3. Vendor Address

    4. Sales Address

    5. Ship-To Address

    6. Purchase Address

    7. Order Address

    8. Alternative Address

  4. To Test I created a new customer

    1. Entered in a misspelled street address

    2. Had to click show on map for it to run the address validation.
