INTRO MUSIC

And what better way to start a podcast than by cracking open a new cold beer. Today’s beer has been provided by our colleague Elena and it’s Trader Joe’s Providential Golden Ale. As I take my first sip Ken, I have to confess I’ve never had a beer from Trader Joe’s, have you?

A Shot of Business Central and A Beer Show Notes

Segment 1 – Beer Review

  • Beeradvocate.com rating of 88 or very good.

  • Trader Joe’s Providential Golden Ale is made by Unibroue Brewery located in Canada. Unibroue Brewery draws inspiration from the great brewing traditions developed over the last two centuries by Trappist monks in Europe—particularly in Belgium. Their beers preserve all their protein and part of their yeast, making them truly worth savoring.

  • Trader Joes currently puts their name on 21 different beers.

  • 7.5% Alcohol Content

  • Some words that have been used to describe this beer are: Very straight forward banana peel and clove spice that didn’t linger for too long, pours slightly hazy in an orange amber color with yellow highlights and nearly white head, aromas of bready malt and caramel sweetness along with some fruity esters and spice notes, and the taste is gentle, sweet, and warming.

  • Our Ratings: Ken = 40 and Michael = 60

2019 Podcast Favorite Moments

In the spirit of New Year’s countdowns here are our top 6 most popular segments from 2019:

Also a few of our favorite’s that we talked about in the Podcast during 2019.

  • Favorite Beer: Energy City’s Brewing Milkshake Nawi Pineapple. This beer completely shocked us with how it tasted compared to what we thought it was going to taste like. This was as craft as a craft beer can get. Crazy name, good flavors, and from a small local brewery.

  • Favorite Segment: Talking Business Central with Jim Gio from Triangle Package Machinery. This is our favorite because of its importance. Hearing about Business Central from an actual Business Central customer we think really resonates with our audience.

  • Favorite Feature: Assembly Orders vs Production Orders. I liked this feature because I think we did a great job clarifying the differences and when you should one or the other.

  • Favorite App: Clever Document Links. This app performed drag and drop flawlessly and at the time was head and shoulders above the other apps that performed drag and drop.

  • Fun Moment: First time Ken was actually stumped on a Ken Stump Segment and Michael referring to Fat Tire beer as Flat Tire.

  • Worst Moment: Ken's stomach ache after drinking the variety of Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy's from Episode 3.

Segment 3 - Business Central Feature: Building Custom Reports in Business Central

Segment 4 – Business Central Feature App: Clever Global Search

Thoughts:

  • So Business Central has a built in search feature so why do you need the global search by Clever? Well the global search by Clever allows you to narrow down the tables and fields that you want to search to make your search more accurate and quickly.

  • Installation was a breeze. Within 10 minutes I was searching for what I wanted. Search was fast and precise.

  • I like that during setup where you are choosing which tables and records you want Clever Global Search to be looking through you can use the Table Filter option to not show certain things. So for example, you may not want to show customers which don’t have a VAT Registration Number.
